JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas – Members of the 902nd Security Forces Squadron put their military working dogs through their paces during a training exercise at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph on Aug. 14, 2024.
As a team, the handlers and the MWDs demonstrated psychological deterrence techniques and response to a simulated threat.
MWD teams demonstrated six phases of controlled aggression tactics training to reinforce the handler and the MWD’s familiarity with managing potential threats.
MWDs may also be skilled in explosive and narcotics detection to ensure the safety and security of military assets and communities.
